My Travels

OK, so today, I was getting caught up on everybody's "status" on Facebook when I noticed that one of my High School Classmates had posted a "Cities I've Visited" travel map. Now, I usually avoid the majority of the "applications" on Facebook, but since it was cold and raining outside, I decided to play around with this one. I quickly began to realize just how lucky I have been to have traveled to so many places. Sure, there are lots of other places that I would love to visit, but compared to many, I have been very fortunate. My (7) years in the US Air Force and my (16) years working for MCI had me going places that I never would have been otherwise. I had the opportunity to live in England for 3 years, and I saw the Azores, Sicily, Cairo, and Oman while in the military. MCI took me to places like California, Arizona, New York City, and Washington DC (just to name a few). I have also been fortunate enough to vacation in a few places like Yellowstone, several spots in Florida, and Freeport, Bahamas. Interestingly enough, however, I also realized that my 2 favorite places are both in my home state of Tennessee. Places where my parents took me (often) as a child, Dale Hollow Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains.
